To-Do List or Not To Do

This morning I was thrilled to get to my yoga mat, to breathe, stretch and meditate for a whole hour without any interruptions or distractions. I chose to do that first - before sorting a huge stack of work papers to file. I could have had the papers all filed in that hour and I would be ahead in my to-do list, but there was a new item at the top of my to-do list and that was my own time to fuel and get ready for my day. I felt wonderful after my practice. I always do and then I always say to myself, "I am going to do this every day!” But life happens and I don't always make that choice and I am thankful for that. I learn from it and it moves me to choose the time for myself more often.

Our Visit with the Adventurous George

I am so amazed every time by the adventurous spirit of this man. At home he doesn’t cook and eat as we do and he doesn’t do yoga every day, but when he visits us he just goes along with whatever we do. George is truly one of the easiest house guests anyone could ever find.

Three Months Today

It is hard to believe that it has been three months today - since we began Our Healthy Year. We are defiantly in the groove of making our own food, packing food for lunches and travel and finding local sources of honey, syrup, produce and more. In many ways it just feels normal now. It is simple and much cheaper than I expected, (even when I splurge and buy pine nuts!).
